Training & Qualifications
Background:
✦ 30+ years of personal practice across multiple traditions
✦ 10+ years professional teaching (individuals, groups, professionals, veterans, experienced practitioners, beginners)
✦ U.S. Army veteran with B.A. in Intelligence, American Military University; pattern recognition and systems analysis inform how I map individual meditative architecture
✦ Additional training in yoga, MBSR, Ayurveda foundations, and therapeutic applications: context for tailoring practice to individual constitution and nervous system
How I Work:
✦ I coach in recognition-based meditation. Presence is what you already are.
✦ I start by understanding how your nervous system, attention style, and life circumstances interact with different meditation methods. Your practice fits your system.
✦ We begin with an evaluation (InnerMap) to understand your meditative architecture (how your nervous system naturally works).
✦ I coach from techniques across five meditation forms (open monitoring, focused attention, movement, effortless presence, intuitive). Your practice fits your life and readiness for depth.
✦ Practice integrates into your actual life. I respond to what's happening in your practice.
✦ Some people need more structure, some less. Some are ready for depth teaching immediately; others need time with basics.
✦ This is about recognizing the awareness that's already present and learning to live from it.
Availability & Preferences
I try to be flexible; time is limited. I'm almost never available on weekends.
