AMA : Ask a professional hypnotist
I am a practicing hypnotherapist in Augusta Georgia with particular interests in medical hypnosis, fear, and anxiety. While attending medical school, hypnotherapy was suggested to me to deal with my own anxiety problem caused by a residual medical phobia. As hypnotherapy started to relieve the symptoms, I left medical school to become a professional hypnotherapist.
As a licensed EMT who has studied and worked extensively in the medical field, even attending medical school for a while, I am particularly focused on various forms of medical related hypnosis such as cancer, pre/post surgical, hypno birthing, etc. I also enjoy helping people with their general stress and anxiety.
I am more than happy to provide counseling or mentoring or just teaching people who may just want to know more about hypnosis. I can even teach you how to know when someone is attempting to perform hypnosis on you and how to counter it. This can be for 30 minutes of hypnosis education or learning more about my favourite field.
Please note, I will not be discussing spirits, ghosts, or anything New Age in this service. This is far beyond my scope of practice. If you want to go to a woo-woo hypnotherapist, go to them as it is not me.
Also I am a professional hypnotist, not a lay hypnotist. This is what I do professionally. It's not a hobby, its my job. Most of the other hypnotists on here who are claiming to be hypnotists are not professional ones and do not have suitable training. I know because many of them have interacted with me including another who is offering an AMA. If you want someone who is a professional, I am the one for you.
Training & Qualifications
Melvin Marsh is a practicing certified hypnotherapist in Augusta Georgia with particular interests in medical hypnosis, fear, and anxiety. While attending medical school, hypnotherapy was suggested to him to deal with his own anxiety problem caused by a residual medical phobia. As hypnotherapy started to relieve the symptoms, he realized he could use hypnosis to help his future patients. Eventually he realized he liked hypnotherapy much more than biochemistry and he left medical school to pursue his studies at HMI College of Hypnotherapy, the only nationally accredited college of hypnotherapy in the United States. He graduated with honours.
Melvin's educational background includes a B.S. in Anthropology and Human Biology from Emory University, a M.S. in Space Studies (focus on aerospace psychology) from the University of North Dakota, and has completed an extensive amount of study on Webyeshiva. He is currently pursuing a graduate degree in psychology. He became a certified hypnotherapist under the strict guidelines of the Hypnotherapist's Union, the strictest certifying agency in the country requiring an additional 80 clinical hours over that of the National Guild. His practice, After Hours Hypnotherapy, specializes in care after normal business hours and on weekends in order to better serve the busy professional.
