I am a KRI-Certified KY&M instructor trained in 2012 by Gurmukh Khalsa at Golden Bridge Yoga Los Angeles, where I taught for three years. I've also taught at Yoga NoHo and Peace Yoga Gallery in Los Angeles and have led three retreats.
Kundalini Yoga is a spiritual and physical practice designed to awaken the kundalini energy - a latent and spiritual power believed to rest at the base of the spine. When awakened, the energy rises through the body's energy centers (chakras) along the spine, ultimately leading to higher consciousness and spiritual enlightenment.
The goal of KY is spiritual awakening and self-realization, rather than just physical fitness. It's often called "the yoga of awareness" because it focuses on expanding consciousness and accessing inner potential.
