Convention of States? What is That?
45
You've probably heard about the "convention of states" movement to amend the U.S. Constitution advocated by everyone from Mark Levin to Lawrence Lessig. But do you know what it is all about? Is it a "constitutional convention?" Will it run amuck? What sorts of amendments can be proposed? How does it work? In this 30 minute consult, I'll give you an overview of the constitutional law and theory behind the power to propose amendments to the U.S. Constitution by convention, the status of the movement, the various groups involved in advocating for it, and the arguments for and against both the various types of approaches to achieving a "convention of states" and the entire idea of holding a convention to propose amendments to the constitution.
