As someone who has lived for sometime off grid. I'm working on providing information to as many people as possible. Simbi will be a great way to find the questions people really have about off grid. We don't judge, some people are worried about the end of current civilization/technology, others just love the freedom. Information can be shared for very little and help to guide all of us. I'm putting together resources to help people, as it's often hard to find the information, particularly since there is so much bad information out there.
I plan on adding things to our website, and mostly using Simbi to help clarify answers. I also accept that I don't always know everything, however I love to research and enjoy new challenges and situations. I really love to encourage people and try to help them to find that path that works best for them.
Training & Qualifications
I have been living off grid, on and off for the past 13 years. Currently we are building a new Shabin on our own property and hope to move in next spring. I'm interested in a great many disciplines and have been doing a lot of research on everything from power, to water, to sewage, building materials, and even growing our own food. I get a lot of help and support from my terrific wife.
As a former Microwave Engineer, I apply a lot of experience and education to dealing with offgrid power and communication issues. Additionally, I do small engine repair and RV repair, so I have a lot of experience with working with self contained systems.
Availability & Preferences
Usually evening and weekend. Winter I tend to be more available
