Hi! Im a vet tech who has dreams of homesteading. Working towards sustainability every day. I enjoy hiking and backpacking. My husband, myself and my stepdaughter live with 2 dogs, 2 cats, a ball python and some chickens. I enjoy growing fruits and vegetables, canning and dehydrating. I enjoy oil painting but have dabbled in just about any art sub genre you can thing of, from latch hook and scrapbooking to stenciling and calligraphy. I speak Spanish, just a tad of German and ASL and have spent time studying Old Norse, because who doesn't love learning a dead language! I write poetry that tends to be on the darker side of things and enjoy reading. I'm a bit of a bibliophile- I own over 1000 books. (The real paper kind ;) My favorite books are all non-fiction and many are memoirs. I have a particular affinity for hiking and farm memoirs. I enjoy canoeing and rock climbing and pretty much anything outdoors. Bonfires are my favorite past time. I love music, especially rock and metal. My favorite bands include Tool, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. I also enjoy things from as far on the spectrum as In This Moment, Staind and Blue October to Lana Del Rey, White Lies and Snow Ghosts. I enjoy traveling and have been to the Dominican Republic, Germany, Switzerland and France. I am a 'couch surfer' and think that is another awesome project that people can help fellow travelers with. I have had excellent experiences couch surfer and after all, don't we all just need a little help once in awhile?
