Beltane was the Druidic celebration observed on the first of May. It might have derived from a bil, which means luck. or bel (light).
Pick one card from the major arcana deck and place it face up on the table. Take a second card from the major arcana deck and place it some distance from the other one. The first represents the querent’s mood. The second indicates the influence of the forces at play in the specific situation.
Then place 5 cards taken from the minor arcana between the two major arcana cards. The minor arcana represent the external influences caused by the people and situations connected with the querent.
Proceed with the reading, keeping in mind the divinatory and symbolic meaning of each card of the minor arcana, the overall evaluation of all of the cards present, and their relationship with the main card and the card indicating the forces at play. The position of the cards is important: If a card is a upside-down, its negative value is emphasized. If upright, it should be interpreted positively. If a card is at the far right row, the value of its meaning is emphasized. If, rather, it is at the left end, its meaning is less important.
