1:1 Support to Develop your Website
150
Hi!
I joined Simbi to get to know more people and while I enjoy chatting with people online, there is always a better connection to be formed by meeting in-person.
So, let's meet up and I will help you develop your website. Infact, if you are creating a simple website like a blog or a small business website (baker, plumber, consultant etc.), then we could work through your entire website from start to finish!
So how does this work you ask!
We will chat to find a convenient, safe and public place to meet at (like a local library).
At the designated time, we will get together and spend up to 2 hours working on your website.
And then we will go our separate ways.
During this time, you get access to all the resources at my disposal. For example, I have access to many premium WordPress themes as well as software like Adobe Photoshop. You can use all this to assist in developing your website!
What can you get done in 2 hours?
Typically, in 2 hours, I can develop a full website from start to finish. However, it takes much longer to 'design' a website. So if you do the homework of 'designing' a website, you will likely walk out of our session with a fully developed website you can be proud to show the world!
Awesome! So what does 'designing' a website entail.
Designing a website is simply knowing exactly what you want your website to look like. At the very least, you want to be able to answer the following questions:
1. What is the color scheme of your website (what color is the navigation menu, what color is the text, what color is the background etc.)?
2. What is the font you want to use (typically one font for the entire site or one site for the headings and one font for the rest)
3. What pages are going to be on the site (Home Page, About Page, Contact Page, Services Page, Blog Page etc.)
4. What text, images, and/or videos are you going to show on each of the above mentioned pages (this is referred to as copy and media for the site).
Now, you might be indifferent to the design of the site. For example, I have had consultants who earn over 1M$ per year simply say they want a modern website and all they provide is the copy for each of the pages. This is okay as well, but it just means you need to be okay with the design choices I make!
Let's see, what else do you need to know to make this a successful session!
Domains and Hosting!
Websites need an address on the internet. This is called the domain name. For example, Google's domain name is 'google.com'. You need to get a domain name. I can help you get a domain name at the session or you can purchase one for about 15$ per year from a number of sites.
Websites also need a computer to reside on. These computers are referred to as hosting. You can get this through sites like Site Ground (shared hosting) or better yet Amazon AWS (see my other offer for details on how you can get free hosting for 12 months, 5-10$ per month afterwards). You can get the hosting service before the session or I can help you with that as well.
If you decide that we will purchase the domain and hosting service during the session, remember to bring your credit card.
Cool! So how do we get the ball rolling?
Simple, just send me a message and we will figure the rest out!

P.S. If you are super interested in this service but live outside of the seattle area, then we can do it on Skype.
Training & Qualifications
Have a rocket scientist build your website! For real, I graduated from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering + I currently work as an Engineer for Boeing in Seattle, WA designing the next generation of the 777 Aircraft.
More relevantly, I have spent over 10 years developing websites. I have earned a couple of certifications from Google (Mobile Friendly Site Developer and Google Analytics). In addition, I have taken a Digital Marketing class from University of Washington. I have tons of experience with WordPress (the most popular platform for building websites) and Laravel (a more advanced MVC framework).
You are in good hands!
