As a breeder, I am well-versed in genetics as it is my responisibitly to know the genealogy of each rat in my care to know what traits it possesses to be able to potentially pass on to the offspring. It is my job to know About dominant and recessive traits and to know what ia desirable in the Fancy Rat world.
I have become quite expert at detecting behaviors in rats and knowing their temperaments by the signs and traits they show.
I have spent years researching what food, bedsing and environment is best to help pwt rats not only survive, but to THRIVE.
I have memorized times and dates of heat cyclea, mating rituals, gestation periods, weaning ages and rehoming ages, all for the best interest of the rats involved.
I have helped in the birthing process when complications gave arose.
I am well-trained in hand-rearing rat kits of any age, from syringe feeding newborns, to tube feeding elders.
I have devised a way of screening potential adopters to help know if they will provide a suitable home for the ratties leaving my care and if they are willing to learn what may need to be learned to provide an even better home to THRIVE in.
