relationship challenge or conflict?
10
Hey! I'm offering a 30-minute phone call or video call for some non-judgmental support in any relationship challenges you may be facing. I will hold both you and the other parties involved with compassion and curiosity and provide the space for you to explore what's going on for you and make guesses about what might be going on for the other person.
This is not about sharing my opinion, but rather holding space for you to discover why something is bothering you, what's important to you, and how to more clearly communicate your requests to others involved. The session will be grounded in empathy and reflective listening. Before I provide any more input, interventions, or tools, I will check to see if that's wanted (and you can say no!) Sometimes all we need is to vent and have an engaged listener.
All kinds of relational constellations are welcome! Familial, platonic, work, or romantic relationships, hookups, situationships, or even the relationship with yourself! Also, I'm queer and poly-friendly (educated by my own experiences in these regards!).
Training & Qualifications
I have over 100 hours of training in Non-Violent Communication, and I am the leader of the conflict mediation team within my residential intentional community. I have gained a great deal of experience in the practice of heart-centered collaboration over the past 6 years living with 35 other adults, as well as leading countless mediation processes when conflict emerges. The first step in our process is always an empathy session with each party involved. Often, this first step alone helps to shift the dynamic of the conflict because it's very powerful to receive compassionate understanding, and often just the validation of one's feelings and needs in the situation brings clarity. If you are interested in furthering the mediation process or involving other parties, we can discuss that potential!
This is not intended to replace more professional couples counselling or legal mediation, but it could be a way to dip your toes into the practice of sharing more transparently about your relationship. It can feel unnatural to share the intimate details of our closest relationships, but I believe the quality of these connections can suffer in privacy. It is my firm belief that it takes a village to have truly rewarding relationships.
Availability & Preferences
I have a very flexible schedule at the moment, but mornings work best for me!
