I will write a 10 to 20 line poem (quite possibly a sonnet) based on an occasion, person or cause you want to celebrate. I will need to ask you a couple questions to gain material and inspiration for the poem. I've been writing fiction, essays and poetry over the past 13 years on an almost daily basis, but I love poetry above all for its unique flexibility of thought, emotion and occasion. (I mean I'm on Simbi after all.) I love language and people, so writing a custom poem brings it all together. ((The poems I write are for you to share with family and friends, but I still hold copyright and reserve the write to publish them in book form.))
Training & Qualifications
I've written two full books of poetry with Anvil Press and I've written poetry on the spot at fundraisers (Instruments for Change), public events (Vancouver Farmers Markets) and a BC Film industry party (Hornby Island). I have an MFA in Creative Writing from UBC.
