I'm driving from Washington D.C. to Burbank California and I'm looking for interesting things to do and see along the way. Looking for things that are free or cheap. It'll be just me and my daughter, who is 9. While I don't mind a good 10 mile hike myself it'll probably be too much for her, so that rules out the Havasu Falls at the Grand Canyon.
So far we've got the World Chess Hall of Fame in St. Louis, MO as a stop.
If you're a traveler and you know of great experiences, things to see or do across the country and can make a cost effective trip plan suitable for a 9 year old to tag along then that's exactly what I'm looking for.
We will be driving the distance of the trip.
