Home Maintenance and Repair Convo
5
I reside in a 100+ year old house that comes with its own maintenance and repair needs. Right now (end of 2025) these are the needs from low priority to higher priority:
* my dishwasher broke and was uninstalled and removed from the premises in late 2024. I have yet to get a replacement to install. So I'd need help installing when I finally get one.
* my range's overhead fan's low setting doesn't work and the high setting sometimes needs a poke and spin to actually start working. So I know it will eventually be replaced. Again, not quite a priority since it works about 80% of the time with the poke-and-spin.
* I have a couple of single pane windows taped up with painter's tape because they're old and rain was coming in. It would be great to replace them with dual pane windows and get them installed. I've asked Home Depot to measure the windows before, so I have the measurements from them. I just haven't gotten around to ordering them and getting them installed since the painter's tape is doing the job just fine.
* Finally, this is highest on my concern list -- I see some cracks in the foundation in the basement and know that it is extending and/or widening with every passing year and minor earthquake. So it'd be great to address that in the near future.
I'd be open to discussing which of the above points is most doable over one convo either via phone or email for a few Simbi to start. If we do move forward with actual work on any of the above points, I am happy to discuss what would be a doable exchange. Thanks.
