Robertson College's Accounting Specialist program in Winnipeg is designed to give you a basic understanding of office procedures, bookkeeping, Sage and Quickbooks computerized accounting, corporate and financial accounting, and payroll administration.

Be introduced to the basic concepts of corporate accounting including analyzing corporate financial statements, accounting for property, plant and equipment and current liabilities
Gain an understanding of financial accounting principles, practices and their underlying theories according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Learn manual bookkeeping fundamentals for small business including how to prepare journals, postings, ledgers, trial balance and basic payroll
Learn payroll-related legislation and payroll fundamentals which meets the academic requirements of the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification with The Canadian Payroll Association
Transition the concepts of manual bookkeeping to a computerized accounting environment (Sage 50 and Quickbooks will be covered)
Gain basic knowledge of office procedures and develop strong business communication and customer service skills
Learn proper typing techniques and improve your keyboarding speed and accuracy
Learn to use and navigate around office software such as Microsoft Word and Excel
